    Pokerstars $20 180 player SnG. Sarting stacks 1500

    On level two of this MTT, blinds 15/30. I'm in MP with 1800. Two limpers UTG & UTG+2. I have AhKs and raise it to 150. Button calls and everyone else folds.

    No real reads on the Button. He has been tightish so far winning one or two small pots without showing cards, but it is early in the tourney yet. He has about 1500 in chips. I've been tight as well, winning one pot for a few hundred with QQ.

    Flop comes AsTs4s.

    I bet 180. button pushes all-in.

    Do I call or do I fold ?

    Any other comments also welcome.

    Call call call.

    Preflop raise is good. Bet more like 280 on the flop.

    I'd call .

    I call too. This is an ideal example of an early opportunity to put yourself in a good position to fgo deep in a tourney. You have to win a couple of these types of hands on the way if you are going to cash. You have TPTK and the nut flush draw - go for it and keep fingers crossed.

    I have a feeling that this is a thinly veiled bad beat thread.

    Nasty. I think I might fold this and assume his range is limited to TT,44 and AT. Given his tight image and how scary the board is I think it's unlikely he'll push here with AQ or weaker, but if yout hink that's in his range then its a must call. Personally I think it's unlikely he'd make such a ridiculous all in without AT or a set.

    Board: As Ts 4s

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 37.9798 % 37.85% 00.13% { AhKs }
    Hand 2: 62.0202 % 61.89% 00.13% { TT, 44, ATs, ATo }

    Call for me.

    Let me just guess what happened - he had QQ with the Q of spades. And he hit a Q to win the pot! Ul!

    in these yokes he could have a gazillion things that u are ahead of, and even if he doesnt, u have at least 7 outs, (if he has made flush), 9 outs if he has a set, insta call against your standard player at this level.

    Seems the concensus is to call however assuming he has a decent hand , he probably has either two pair, a made flush or a set. According to Poker Stove if he has two pair it's a 55/45 race. The other two I'm roughly 70/30 behind.

    Is it worth taking on a race this early in the tournament ?

    Obviously there is also a strong possibility that he has a hand like AdQs or the like and is trying to push me off the hand. However I called assuming I was behind, he had ATo and I didn't improve.

    I guess it boils down to whether you think it is worthwhile gambling a bit in the early stages of a MTT in order to build a stack.
