    hi ,
    I am tryiny to edit a .bat file by right clicking and going to edit,it works on my lab machine but not on my laptop,i get the following error

    Windows cannnot find the file ,even though the file is there and i can run the file,but i need to edit it s contents

    Try opening notepad, and using file->open to directly browse to the file.

    That means the file is read only. Notepad can't differentiate between a file missing and a read only file. Change the permissions on the file and you should be able to edit it.
