itunes questions

    a few basic questions.

    1. Is it possible so that when you add music to your music folder on your pc that it will pick up on the changes and just transfer them to your ipod when it is connected.

    2. Can you refresh the itunes library?

I'll have a few more questions shortly. So far using itunes's so called friendly interface i've managed to delete 40gbs of mp3s. Why does it want to copy all of my hard drive of mp3s to its own itunes folder in my music?! two sets of 60GBs mp3 exactly the same? no thanks...

    3. Another question. I've removed lot's of MP3s from the library. Do i need to go through each one in itunes and delete it separately? How can i quicly tell itunes they are gone?

    and another:

    4. If i add new folders to my music how do avoid duplicates showing up if i accidently add a folder that is already in the library. It seems the only to avoid this is to reload the enire library again if there are large changes.

    5. I have music on my laptop too. Am I able to sync it up with my PC but just add tracks to the ipod from my laptop without syncing.

apologies for all these stupid questions

No, you have to add them to your library first.

When you add songs it refreshes itself. (Not sure I understand what you mean there)

Highlight the album or artist name in the browser, then click delete and it will delete all items on screen.

    You can't.

I think youll have to switch the option each time then. When you plug it into your laptop, youll have to switch off autosync in other words.
