    Hi lads,

Im looking for the best BJJ instructional to buy. I want one that pays particular attention to balance, posture and fine-tuning positioning on the top and bottom.

I’ve seen some that concentrate too much on just submissions and not enough on escapes, strategy and general positioning.

    Any advice is appreciated!:)

JJ Machado's guard series was pretty good like that IMO. There are submissions on it obviously but he does a lot of positional pointer stuff too. The one criticism I would have of it would be that you would have to have a good bit of game before integrating some of the stuff.

I saw Luis Giuterrez's harness series lately and that added a lot to my side control in particular. I got an awful lot out of it as it was the closest thing to being in a class I've seen on DVD. Also, its limited in its scope, concentrating on one position and variations off of that. Its A1. John Kavanagh gets namechecked in it too but if you can get past that ots a great instructional:D :D

I have the SBG BJJ syllabus three-DVD set (bought it at the last Matt Thornton seminar). I get a lot of pointers from it that I try and keep in mind while training. With that said, I've no other BJJ instructionals to compare it to.

My pick at the mo for what your looking for would be:

Saulo Ribeiro - Jiu-Jitsu Revolution (6 dvds) think it's available from groundfighter.com in the US

    and

Stephan Kesting - Grappling Drills (82 of them!!!!) available from Fightlord.com here in Ireland
