I did not like his interview on RTE after the game. What did the rest of you make of it?

well, perhaps it was just me but if i was player i'd be pissed off at some of his comments and some of his empty remarks. for example saying Mayo finished second out of 32 counties.
when asked to give his thoughts on another failure for mayo. He pointed out it was his first failure. He also questioned the hunger of some mayo players. to me it just smacked of bad sports psychology on his part. As if none of the blame rested with him. in my opinion it does as Kerry seemed to be physicially stronger
and fitter. i thought it was down to genetics, but apparently Kerry had a better coaching set-up allied with good skill of course. In this day and age there is no excuse for one team to have an advantage in this aspect of the game. Mayo players were muscled off the ball in every key aera of the game.

He said they were naive, apprehensive and lacked aggression in their individual battles.

Basically they were afraid of the Kerry jersey and overawed by the occassion.

they were naive with their tactics- both players(bad passing, and lack of positional sense) and management.
Brady should have been on at full back from the start. Francie Bellew struggled against "the star" so what hope was there for Heaney? Also bear in mind Heaney was given a torrid time by Dara O Cinneide in 2004.
Cinneide, is seven inches smaller than Donaghy and certainly not as strong.

It wasn't that they lacked agression rather Kerry just shunted them off the ball. That's to do with physical strength. I don't believe many Mayo player lacked determination and aggression. Kerry appear to have a better fitness and strength trainers than Mayo. So whose fault is that? Morrison should look to himself before criticising and distancing himself from the team he is involved with. A bad interview in my opinion.

    I dunno.
I raised an eyebrow at some of the things he said. My issue would be that IMO sports pysco babble can only do so much. Mayo didnt seem to have a game-plan. Had no movement in the forwards. No ball possession and no alternatives when things got bad.

But that said I think it was an interesting reveal of the motivation techniques going on behind the scenes. 1-on-1 interviews etc etc

There's several players and coaches nowadays telling the truth as they see it. Personally I welcome that and its better to the other option of "hard luck", "better team won", " we just didnt perform" bla bla bla bland obvious statements etc etc

I always more interesting to hear the coaches opinions and reasons for certain decisions etc

You think his speech on RTE was bad. His speech at the dinner was a disgrace.

It was like a Sinn Fein political party announcement. He was talking about Mayo's history of fight and he said "You got rid of the enemy down here long ago. We're still trying to get rid of them at home in Derry".

He's a bit a tool aswell. When we played Laois first he started half-taunting the fans by waving to the stands before the game and blowing kisses with both hands. He might be a good trainer, but my god he needs to be taught public relations.

The thing that gets me about this Moran-Morrisson thing is that they apparently are into all this psychology stuff.

Yet when Mayo concede the second goal, their heads just went down

Brady should have been on at full back from the start.

What if that didnt work? No plan B and Donaghy would have dominated for the whole match. Would have been a huge risk to start Brady there considering that he isnt usaed of that position.
and lacked aggression in their individual battles.

Did he say that? I thought he aid earlier in the year that Mayo dont do aggression, they just outscore the opposition

Yes they are supposed to be the arch- manipulators and getting guys motivated and in a winning mindset. so for morrisson to say the team lacked agression and feared the kerry jersey. It indicates he didn't do his job effectively

hmm... maybe but 2004 should have shown them they needed to have Brady on from the start.
i think what Jarlath Burns said on bbc northern ireland is the only way to stop him. it's just a pity Morrisson and Moran didn't see this in the run up to the game.

yes he said something to that effect- they weren't hungry enough and were afraid of the Kerry jersey
