Using a US dvd player with an Irish TV?

I have a US dvd player. As long as I use a converter with it, can I connect it to an Irish-bought TV to play US dvds on?

    Thanks!

it will work with an NTSC compatible tv. most modern sets are NTSC compatible.
It will also need to have the same connections as the dvd player. component is best followed by S-video and lastly video.
If your tv only has scarts you can get a scart to s-video/video adapter in any electrical shop for around 5-10 euro.
