    Hi,
I have a laptop and computer hooked up to the one modem for broadband, at the moment I'm just switch over ethernet cables depending on which machine I'm using. I've noticed over the last few days its been running very slow and eventual stops for prolonged periods on both machines. Has anyone had similar problems. I'm with BT. I'm running antivirus checks and all that now but I'm just wondering if I'm alone. Is there anyway to check the line to see what kind of speeds I should be getting?

    Thanks
    Pa

i have the same issue, with bt, it is sometimes slow, last thurs it died compleley, was still down on friday morn, rang bt support was over an hour on the fone and still got no where..... it came back fri eve....

i got the vodafone connect card so im not that concerned, am going to cancel all my services with bt, as im tired having to keep chasing them up with errors on their bills..

http://www.irishisptest.com/ will probably offer a more accurate result as it's based in Ireland.

EDIT: EIN, check out http://callcosts.ie/home/default.asp for details.

If you want to test your line download speed then please do a partial download of a linux distro from heanet.ie with flashget to absolutely see the highest possible speed.
