Any way to log internet access over my wireless network?

    Hi

I have a wireless network in my apartment. It is in my name and I pay for it.

My flatmate (a bit strange) uses it as well, on his own laptop.

I am OK with him using it, but I would like to be able to monitor what kind of stuff he is looking at, just in case it's weird (mostly because the connection is "in my name".)

My wireless router is a linksys, but it only logs the IP address of outgoing traffic.

Is there any way to install software which would log all the websites for me?

    Thanks!

Certain router logs will actually record all the domain names as they are called - I don't know which brands or models off hand though.

Alternatively, setup an old PC to act as a gateway or whatever - I'm sure there's some free software on sourceforge that can do the job for you.

If it's a Linksys WRT54G, you can replace the official firmware with a version that can be tweaked to do all sorts of things, including some fairly detailed logging.

But it's a non-trivial task. You can look into what's involved at sites like http://www.dd-wrt.com/ and http://openwrt.org/.

This isn't what you want to hear, but personally, I would advise leaving it alone.
