Is it really necessary to keep giving me life bans?! I mean LIFE!!! That cant be proportionate!!! I apologised to deVore couple weeks back in an IM and obv i'd like to (unreservedly) apologise to Mr Ecksor + Mr Lafortezza also for any unruly behaviour and i mean that. I dont know any of you people in real life not even HJ so its inconceivable that its anything personal. Plus these bans are site wide and ive never infringed any rules in any other forum. If im unbanned i can contribute a little bit (positively) id say. - RD

Cougar PMing me to tell me to "go **** a goat" is a sitewide offence as far as I'm concerned, especially when he was basically just dragging me into his own personal row to try to get Hectorjelly banned, which is just a cheap trick in my opinion. Then he informed me that I should be wary from a legal point of view about us letting HJ post poker advice because it's flawed and might cause people to lose money. Then he informed me that he didn't want to be involved any more with this "travesty of a website" and its D4 backslapping participants.

I wonder what changed.

Right this could be a long night and im gonna end up with 157 hotmail addresses. Anyway you're talking waffle and serious amounts of it. 1. How can there be a legal problem with a poker player giving hand advice?????? Thats the single most stupid thing ive ever read. I mentioned a concept called Detrimental Reliance but u obv dont bother to read what i write or didnt understand me. 2. I told you to go "**** a goat" when i was drunk and pissed off and subsequently apologised for 3. I asked initially for HJ to be banned for calling me "an annoying little twerp (possibly accurate but for me to say not him) and to crawl under a rock and die". im entitled to IM u to ask (as a moderator) for him to be banned, the charter asks for these things reported.

In anycase you were the one who told me id need to apologise to you to post here in future. As for whats changed - i play tournaments over crazy hours and i like to read the forums. Btw if ur going to ban me then reply to this, it just shows ur schoolboy bully mentality, either dont reply or dont ban until im given the opportunity to reply.

You signed back up the first time without trying to clear the air. That doesn't suggest a willingness to make peace. Your "OwenHargreaves" account was given the benefit of the doubt until you stopped behaving yourself under that alias. That isn't encouraging for your future behaviour either.

See, either I'm talking waffle or I'm not, but you're the one who got me involved in this in the first place (I generally let the poker mods run this forum as they see fit and they do a good job of it). But, even if I am talking waffle, I get to ban you as I see fit. That's ownership for you. I said you might be able to get me to accept an apology, but I didn't guarantee it. Your apology didn't seem sincere, and if you were going to behave yourself again then why did your OwenHargreaves account pop up on the moderator's radar again? I don't read this forum as a general rule.

And, uh, I banned and replied. Where's the confusion here?

I don't see much of a point in banning people as they can just start up new accounts straight away again! If people had to give an email address each time they tried to sign up it might slow them down a bit as it would mean having to start up multiple email accounts to continue making new accounts on boards. Just my opinion.

I'm sure if he uses a static IP address they can ban that. or if not, ban a range.

You cant use the same email account each time. It gets banned along with the account. You cant easily ban static IP's because if someone is posting from (say) Dell ... ALL Dell employees will find themselves banned.

Also, to the OP, you werent a wet day back in the place but you knowingly and willfully went at HJ again having promised you wouldnt. And now you are banned. Exactly what is unfair about that?

We said: You are banned
You said: I wont do that again
We said: Ok, we'll give you another chance but if you do that again you'll be banned.
You did it again and even commented while doing it that you had promised me you wouldnt it!!
We said: You are banned. Again.

Seems fairly straightforward to me!

I'm responding to deVore only here. I'd knowingly and willfully have reacted the same about anybody who put that into writing. I was far from the only person to react in that manner (outrage) to the stuff he was saying. Certainly didn't set out to have a go at anybody.

You really think or agree that quoting a film, "go f a goat", is worthy of a Life-Ban? It's most definitely nothing personal with anyone on this site, fact is i couldnt pick any of you out of a line-up, let alone know any of you to have a go at for no reason!! Every time i attempt to apologise or reason with Mr Ecksor he just Life Bans me and says "snore". Amusing possibly but i am attempting to apologise and reason and nobody cares.

Sitewide life ban on a public forum!!!! That's ridiculous!!! It really is. My initial 'offence' was asking for someone to be banned for abusing me, then i get banned, quote the film to Ecksor and i get a life ban.... fair? What's the difference between "crawl under a rock and die you annoying little twerp" and "go **** a goat". Not a lot i'd imagine. Not arguing that i shouldnt be banned for last week's episode, i'd do the same every time and take a ban on the chin for it but nothing i've said or done on this site has been worthy of a life ban.

Dude, why are you asking to be unbanned when it is clear that you can just set up a new account and use that? Maybe if you set one up in a while and act cordially on it it won't alert the suspicions of the mods. You might be able to live a happy online life under an assumed name. Nobody suspects that Mr. Flibble isn't my real name.

Nah, if Mod of forum A uses forum B then they're not entitled to any special treatment from the mod of forum B. Mods get enough accusations of favouritism as it is.
