I love the sound of Piano in a song. A typical example is Starlight by Muse.

That's the kind of music I am looking for, Not classic pianists. :p

Anyway, My question is, What other bands/songs use Piano quite a lot? I know the usual suspects - Keane, Coldplay etc etc.

    Thanks,

    Timans

queen. loads of their stuff - especially the stuff from the 70s during their 'no synth' years...

bohemian rhapsody, somebody to love, don't stop me know, we are the champions, bicycle race...jeez - pretty much every tune of the greatest hits 1 apart from 'another one bytes the dust'

Good call on the Tom Waits, especially his earlier recording can be very piano orientated.

A lot of Rufus Wainwright's stuff.
Aqualung - primarily piano based, very highly recommended.
    Antony and the Johnsons.
Early Tom Waits, as mentioned. Closing Time is a great album for a relaxed winter's evening.

Pretty much all of 'Boatman's Call' is of a similair vein. But right through the back catalogue the piano features very predominantly.

Counting Crows have a good few Piano songs.

    Also David Gray.

I'll third Tom Waits and recommend San Diego Serenade from the Heart of Saturday Night album. Anthony and the Johnsons is all piano and Stars have a few piano songs (I'd recommend Tonight from the album Nightsongs). Also, The Valleys of New Orleans is a great piano track from The Veils (off the last album, The Runaway Found).

The Dresden Dolls are just one of the best bands around at the moment. They can actually make exicting music with just piano, drums and vocals, unlike faggy indie bands such as Coldplay and Keane

Smashing Pumpkins Adore album is mainly piano based as well. Brilliant album.
Also Tom Wait as already mentioned.
Also Aphex Twin has some really good piano tracks. Nannou #2 is one of them.
