I was there last November and it was crazy expensive!!! Their currency is stronger than British pounds!!!! Try to look for clubs with 2 drinks for the price of one or happy hours etc......its not cheap!!!

Was there last year and found it to be slightly cheaper than here. I'd say it would be very nice there in October....middle of the summer would be very hot

Been there twice and spent twice as much money as you would anywhere else. You get nothing for the cypriot pound, nice place but very expensive. You can have a great holiday but you need to bring loadsa money.

    been there twice myself.

It is expensive. You get about 57pence for a euro so as a rule of thumb just double the cypriot pount price to get your euro cost.

Most of the pubs i went to were two pounds for a pint which is four euro. That's not cheap for a holiday place.

Saying that, off licences do exist over there so that can make your holiday a little cheaper if you dont mind drinking in. if however you are going to sit at the pool drinking cocktails all day, it'll add up fast.

Bars and clubs do loads of promos, you won't have to pay into any clubs if they're still open, be getting fairly quiet now i'd imagine.

Food is dear too but shop around. We got a full english every day for 1.80 which is about 3.50euro. That said the glass of orange juice cost about three euro!

For dinners we ate out every day, loads of restaurants in ayia napa to choose from. A lot will offer you free shots, or free dessert to get you in.

My personal favourite was the japanese called hokaidu or something. you paid about 7pound for a steak dinner and it was fantastic. You also get fried rice and vegetables all cooked fresh at your table for that. so about 15-20euro for dinner if you get a drink. Other places that were good were los banditos a mexican, and an italian place near the green bungalows apartments - they're basic apartments though be warned. Clean, but basic.

Stayed in aphelandra before too whose bathroom was nicer and newer but pool wasn't as good. Not much to choose between the two really.

You get what you pay for.

I'd highly recomment you go visit cape greko, very scenic altogether, and aphrodites rock is also worth a look. We went to paphos too and got totally ripped off at a restaurant on the seafront. I paid 25euro for a mixed grill and an orange juice. The mixed grill was rubbish and the 'fresh veg' were a few frozen peas and carrots!

I like cyprus i'd go back again. But it is pricey. I spent 500euro in six nights and i didn't go mad at all. You could do a lot more damage than that!
