Of late the cash game I play tend to get über deep late in the night, 300euro stacks+ in a game with 50c BB. So it got me thinking how deep people think is optimal. I know some cash gamers have said the deeper the better but this has to be within reason. I just can't see a HSP episode with Negranu stting with 1 million behind posting a $2 big blind working all that well.

So what do you like to play with?

How deep do you like it? BBs 27 votes

As much of everyone elses money as possible. I am assuming you are talking about buyin though.

Usually I play Omaha (live) and at 1-1 I sit with 250-300. If I play the 1-2 Holdem (rare) I might sit with around 200-250.

Ok. Results are going to be skewed (thanks DeadParrot) a little bit as the smallest commnly available live game is a 1/2NLH game. Try to imagine there was a smaller game available which you could sit at too which you may perfer to sit with the same stack you normally play 1/2 at.

When I'm playing 3/6 limit, I like to sit in with $1000 to cover the swings.

Had a look at 2/5 Omaha game in the fitz tonight. They all seem to have about 5000 euro stacks. Is 1000 BBs common. Surely they should play a bigger game?

    It not really 2/5

    How so, straddling?

Why increase the blinds? 1000 BB is fun. If people want to play a bigger game they will just raise more often preflop.

    blind-raising

    blind-raising

Ah, that makes some sense. I glanced over my shoulder at one point to see a 1500 euro heads up pot AI preflop which seemed quite alot for a 2/5 pot limit game.
Edit: do you mean raising the blinds or raising in the blind?

1000BBs sure is fun, RoundTower. What I'm really trying to work out with my questionaire was how deep will give a good player most edge. Perhaps the better players in that game would make more money if the blinds were bigger compared to their stack...

I think there is a comfort level to be thought of too.
If the chips meant nothing then I would want to play with as many as I could. However the chips do mean something and you also have to consider % of bankroll etc. I dont want to put all my bankroll down on a .1c/.2c regardless of what anyone says.

Also, are you talking NL or PL?

    DeV.
