Only terrestrial and Satellite lets you buy your own box. Sky you actually own all the gear fromn day 1 of your subscription. Cable is a closed pay only system, you only own the TV.

only good thing about the Chorus box is, if and when it breaks down
YOU do not pay for it..If you have Sky then the LND, Dish and STB (set top box) are your responsibility... Disgraceful since they charge so much for service..

Yes but you can cancel Sky anytime after the 12 months and still watch 7 odd BBC Tv and 5 odd ITV channel and Film4 and 200 shopping channels and BBC1 -7 Radio etc..

I pay 22 Euro for 2 mix pack and cancel from time to time, renewal takes 5 to 10minutes and I can cancel again with one month notice. Last time I renewed they gave me a free new receiver and Quad LNB. (I have free channels, free in other rooms)

No phone line needed. A Sky box works anywhere. A Chorus box only on the cable of a customer.
