How often do you clean your clubs and is it a quick rinse in a bucket or do you get the old tooth brush out?

After every game. So depends on time of year, and the wife!

After every winter game I tell myself I must clean them, then forget until I take them out next time. I do remember to do them a couple of times a year though. Either warm soapy water and a nail brush or else a dry scrub with a brass wire brush.

Oddly enough, my shoes probably get cleaned even less often.

You should wipe your club after every shot. If you do this then giving them a clean with the soap and water will only take a min as there shouldn't be much dirt on your clubs unlike if you dont clean them at all

I clean mine before every shot, and after some as well. I hardly ever clean clean them to be honest. I do dry them down if they get wet though.

I use a small brass brush tool that I bought years ago, it's the biz for cleaning out the grooves.

I was playing in a Barton Cup game and for my second shot to the first hole I asked for a 4 iron... he want to the bag, but had to call me over as he couldnt read the numbers with muck on them!!!!

I think that answers your question for me:p :p:p

I Usually clean them after every couple of rounds, but as of lately that could be described as once every year, I hate looking down at a club and not being able to see grooves, so i tend to bring one of them little brass wire brushes with me and give it a rub with that, and then a wipe down with a towel

When cleaning properly, its a bucket of warm soapy water and a stiff brush, and then maybe a blast of the pressure washer if its out, works wonders on the grooves

I rarely give them a clean at home.
The clubs are always clean, at least the clubface, I clean as I go on the course.

On the course I often take out a brush or a tee, pour a drop of water on the face of a club and give the grooves a good clean out. (Especially for my wedges, which seem to require more attention than other clubs.) Takes no longer than half a minute, and it keeps me occupied while waiting for playing partner to hit his shot. Always carry a towel for the purpose of cleaning/drying the clubs too.

about 3-4 times a year, can't be arsed unless they are caked in dirt ( i know i'm a lazy bastard).
i do it prorperly though, decent wash with a bucket of hot water and a wire club brush, then i wipe them down dry and hit the shafts with a lick of wd40 or the like

A friend of my dad is over from the Usa for the Ryder Cup- he carries come clam shaped sponges for cleaning his ball, a small container of water hangs on the side of his golf bag complete with towel and nail brush etc you get the drift (all the gear, no clue).Performs his ritual every shot and we slag him about it.

He cant understand how we spend so much money on golf equip and then dont make an effort to keep it clean or in good nick. (A couple of good practice swings in a wet rough does for me, the young brother has never cleaned his and the ould lad and older brother get out the soapy bucket 2-3 times a year).
I told him that by the end of the week I'd find out what was "normal" practice in this part of the world. Hence my poll and at the moment we seem normal, based on replies.
    Hope this satisfies your question
