Fitz to introduce running antes!!!

This is being introduced on a Thursday for the 150FO apparantly from next week. This is the tournament that will be changing format for the 3rd time since it's introductions around 4 months ago.

It went from 3x20 min levels, all others at 30 min, to 3x20 min, all others 25, to all x 20 (last night was first time in 6 weeks at least I have played this).

They are putting clock back to 25 mins after the break but introducing running antes at some point. I have been told this will be later on, around the 300-600 level, but no official word on this.

What does everyone think of this? The numbers are poor at this tournament, possibly due to changing structure, but this was probably changed due to late finishes etc.

My opinion is that running antes slow down a game an awful lot and should only be used in long clock games. It creates more action, that's undeniable, but in a 20/25 min game I don't agree with it.

I don't like this at all. They had the structure perfect in the first game they held. I remember that with 20 players left, most players were at the 20+ BB mark. The ante's are just going to slow things up, and increase the crap-shoot element late on in the game.

From What i kno the Antes be comming in from the level the 30 minute clock starts wit a 5K stack i think this will give plenty off play!!

Better of going to silks on wednesday, €100 double chance freezeout, 4000 starting stack and a 30 minute clock for the full duration of the tournament with no running antes!!

That thursday game is a pile of ****e now. Was good the first week, but when i went back like 6 weeks later the structure sucked so much I decided there was no way I was going to play it again.

Why dont they play down to the FT and then come back the next evening to play it out. Arguments about not being able to return etc dont really make sense as you shouldnt play it if you cant come back the next evening.
This would allow them to have 30 min levels the entire way and decent stacks and play until 2am without ruining the game and making it a crap shoot.

To be honest, one of the reasons I moved over to playing cash is that the weekly tournaments in Dublin have really poor structures. :(
I still prefer them to cash but now I save up the entries and play the bigger games with deeper stacks.

Sorry to hear you were not made welcome last time you visited the club,
I am one of the new managers at SILKS, and I am slowly but surely changing the way we operate, from turning away good customers such as yourself to making every effort to make you feel you are a valued guest.

I can understand your reluctance to come back, but if you do, you'll find I have changed all but one of the door staff, the new guys are more welcoming and if you do decide to come in, ask for Robbie, if I am not around ask for Glen, and we'll try to make your next visit an enjoyable one.

But please remember that although we do not have any set dress code, anyone turning up looking like they have just finished working on a building site is unlikely to gain entrance, just the same as the Fitz or the SE would do.

    Hope to see you there.
    Robbie
    Silks Casino Manager

Cheers dom some guy dont kno his name and lilly!!
Lilly had a 2/1 chip lead and gave a very fair deal considering!!
You seemed very frustrated at not seen a hand??

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Anytime I made a move, whether I had a hand I'd like a caller with or not everyone folded, and I needed a caller. I wasn't playing that tight!!

Thats 2 weeks in a row that Lily split it, fair play to her. She was bore and wanted to leave when I got moved to her table with 14 left.
