    anyone know of a good way to receive a text message when you receive a new email? I'm usung gmail by the way.

    If you've got a phone that's recent you can most likely just set it up to check the mailbox itself over GPRS.

    best idea using gmail would be to use the wap version of gmail: http://m.gmail.com/

    set up an your o2 e mail account or Vodafone enable text notification and forward your G mail to it...(you'll still have copy of it on g mail)..its somethin like 12.5 cent per notification text
