The scalps in the Fitz is probably the best value on a Friday night. If you're interested ina big buyin event, then the Pokerstars EPT qualifiers are on later today - $450+$25(I think)

Scalps, Fitz, 8:00 Reg, 8:30 start. Will end up costing over a €100. And is a good game.

Went into the fitz, didn't play my a game, made a bad call for a couple a third of my chips, thinking the player was on a flush draw I reluctantly called his all in (with half an eye on his scalps chip) with aq on a ten high bored, he had 5 10 and I did not improve.

Eventually went out when my a10 all in was called by j10suited preflop and the opponent made a flush on the turn.

No luck but at the same time wasnt giving myself much help.

The 'best player in the SE' was chip leader when I left, around half 12. 105 runners, I think, very big field.

I got knock out about 18th and he was still the chip leader.

Dont know how he gets away with it, outdraws people all over the place and bets anything not nail down

Bad luck Ollie, the hand that did it for you was my KK v your AJ. I just joined your table when they broke the 4th last table and stole a pot from the button. Next hand I'm in the cut-off on your BB and you reraised my "steal". My KK held up. That put me in good position with about 45k. Only"The Chief" had more then me at that stage.

You missed the way the chief capitulated. In two hands he went from CL to out. Both times he put in monster raises with K3 off then K2 off - both times his opposition got all in and both times the Chief was committed. He goes down to 2k. He got back up to 8k and then was gone. The guy with the baseball cap took most of his chips and was then CL.

I caught another KK with blinds at 3k/6k - 14 left. Was a small all-in followed by a 20k all-in which I called. Small stack had nothing, 20k stack had AK off and hit a river straight to put me in difficulty.

Can't say I wasn't getting cards cause a couple of hands later caught AQ off and pushed it pre flop with one limper. There were 12 left at this stage and it paid 12. I've 22k. The limper was the girl at the table who I covered (just) and after a dwell up she calls with A7 soooooooted and rivers a flush. Im crippled now and with no change in the money for 3 spots went AI with 86 suited and drove home.

It could have been so different if I didnt get unlucky with those two pots at the end. Still, great turn out as ever, its the only live game I play regularly and hope to see you there more often.

hard luck ollie, who is the chief btw? i didnt see him in there tonight at least the guy i thought he was! i got knocked out 9th ITM, but was sickened enough. went from chip leader to out in around 4 hands. called short stacks all ins as favourite and hit both flops and lost to runner runner straights! nail in the coffin was my KQ v KJ with a jack duly arriving... i knew i should have had a last longer with you!lol

WP 30something, I thought you were on a steal attempt as you had raised a 2 hands out of 5 since coming to out table and your raise of 5k seem to be a bit indifferent, but on hindsight, it was a action raise. I would normally throw AJ away in that position, but you have to play your bigish hands in that tournament as the blinds get to big to fast. I was happy how I played all night so its not the end of the world. I was waiting for a hand to get the chief involved, but I think most of the table was....lol. The hand I went out on was horrible, push my final 10 k allin with 1 limper utg and the chief on is usual raising method, the utg player callls like a shot and I say to him, you must have the bullits or the best hand anyway, he says no I'm behind. I turn over my 77, chief K2 suit and he than turns over AA. No help on the flop and I turn to him and tell him how unsporting his play was and more or less that he's a wanker and we dont accept that type of play here, than wish the rest of the table goodluck. Great turnout and loads of funny moments all night with the lads.

Have to say, Dave Masters, you played those pocket 2's all wrong....lol

Hope to be there next week.

Why do they do it?? I hate people who slowroll. Hate them. Particularly when reading about them in work on a Saturday morning. Sigh.

the scalps are becoming a major crapshoot by the sounds of it

Have these people learned this type of play from the TV or what? Or pub tournaments? Only a matter of time before someone gets barred after lunging across the table to smack one of these slow-rolling bastards. Never been done to me but makes my blood boil.

The Chief seems to be playing as Eddie the Eagle did up to six months ago. Loving K-rag...or did Eddie only do it when they were suited? Both are pretty fearsome opponents when they have huge stacks, as they make any attempt to see the flop a move that risks your tournament life.

ironically it is more of a crapshoot early on where people go sh1t or bust, it was hard work i must say up until the break, i act went all in once and got 4 callers, id TT, against 86o, 99, AJ and then the fourth caller (who i thought should have folded) called with JJ...
to be fair late on it became more playable especially around the 1K/2K and 1.5K/3K blind levels. it would be much more enjoyable if a hand held up though! :)

thats ridiculous, which guy was it? theres nothing as good as a taste of your own meicine to cure that craic...
also i do know who the chief is now, and i really wish you would have told me at the start of the night! i was at his tabel for a while, first hand i raise preflop with AQs into his BB and he folds after an age, then on his small blind i have AQo and raise again, he calls. flop was KJ7, and he bets 4K whcih covers me, he stares me out of it whihc imakes me think he had an under pair and that id plenty of outs but i reluctanty fold, as its much tourney life, and he flips over Q2o.... hoer!

Were u the guy with the baseball cap?

The chief did exactly the same to me a couple of weeks back in the fitz before I knew who he was. I was in BB with K5 sooted and he min raised from cut-off. I called for value and flop came K83r. I led and he called, turn came 9 no flush. Figuring I was in kicker trouble I checked and he goes AI. I cover him and while I think about it he stares me down oozing confidence. I decide to let it go and he shows J8 off - cheeky git.
