Should I upgrade to IE 7 yet ???

Im a web designer/developer and usually just check my sites
on IE 6 and Firefox on a pc. Then on safari on a mac.

My question is should i upgrade to IE 7?

I do a lot of work with CSS and know that most
people will still be viewing with IE 6 or less so when
should i upgrade if ever?

Is there much difference between the two browsers from a developers point of view..?

any advice?

The vast majority of users will still be on IE6 and will continue to be for some time soon. When IE7 gets pushed down by automatic update it apparently will be tagged as an optional update and require wga to be installed anyway.

Unless you want to test your sites on a platform that not many people have yet I wouldn't bother upgrading.

What I have personally done (and what I think all Web Developers should do) is upgrade to IE7, but run standalone versions of IE5.01, IE5.5 and IE6 on their machines. It's really simple to do and it's all explained in the link below:

Or like me, you want to use IE6, try running the standalone of IE7:
