^is that the same? Did they have a choice of AGP and PCI-E?

No choice, pci-e only. They've been reducing them for months, and stock is slowly but surely dwindling especially after this latest price. They musta gotten a weird shipment or something initially because they had literally about 100 of them!

These offers are almost always sold out when you see them posted here.

Is this card any good? I was thinking of picking one up. My current Geforce MX is dire. Especially with a Dell 26" LCD.

    Thanks

EDIT: Popped into PC World airside, Swords. They're €99.99. Havok, can you confirm these are only 49.99 in Galway?

Definately, without a doubt. They were 99.99, then 79.99, and now 49.99.

Sorry should have mentioned, I've a D5150 which has PCI-e. I'm running my LCD off my older D8100. But if I can pick one of these up for 50 squid.... I've no problem changing over! :D

In Dublin these PC World offers have a slightly mystical air. Someone has posted about offers before in my local store. Never seem to have them though. I happened to be going down to it, once just after someone posted and was there about 10mins later. No sign of offer and they'd never heard of it. Thats happened a few times here. The only exception was the Toshiba external disks.

The Galway store seems to have more obtainable offers.

I think I'm picking one up for kingambrose tomorrow.

I'll take an actual picture tomorrow too! :D

I posted here before when they were 79.99, but even then they didn't shift many. Seem to be really be moving now at this new tag.

I think 98% of people who shop in PC World aren't the sort looking for decent gfx cards anyway though obviously so they have a hard time shifting them in this quantity. A clear enough indication of this is the fact they still have an ancient 9600xt on the shelves priced at 230 euro.

Yeah sorry, I meant in their swords branch. They're marked as was EUR149 now EUR99. Manager said she couldn't knock anymore off them, as they're already EUR50 off. Scanned the box to double check... EUR130. THen asked would EUR80 do... nope! EUR99 is the best she could do. Ah well.

Fair play to Havok. He's gonna try pick me one up at EUR50. :D

Can we not say to a manager in Pcworld that if they are selling in Galway for €50 that they should be same price as there Galway branch? Are they all the one or a franchise?

Tried this. She said the offers vary from store to store. Go figure!

bit strange, they should be same price throughout all PC World outlets. Dixons will match and give you an item for the same price if you find it cheaper in another store, I would of thought this policy stood for PC World too as Dixon's, Curry's & PC World are all owned by the DSG Group:confused:

Well I have your 6600GT here Ambrose. Had a look at the card, strangely enough like the PNY 7600GT I bought yesterday, the PNY 6600GT has no extra input for power from the psu...

Stocks seriously depleted since yesterday. They had a handful left today, maybe 5. I can't pick up anymore unfortunately apart from the one I bought for ambrose as I won't be out that direction until next weekend, by which stage i'm pretty sure they'll be gone...

    Thanks...
