Ipod screen broken-repair abroad question

    Hi,

I am sending my ipod to the United States for repair. The lcd is cracked and apple won't repair it under warranty, and say the cost of repair is higher than the value of the ipod. Its a 3 week old 60g video model.
The repair company is ipodresq, who will ship & repair it for $160.
They are sending me an empty box via DHL, which I send back to them with the ipod to be repaired-they then return it when repair is complete.
Will I be charged import duty on this item? I bought and paid Vat etc. in Ireland. How does this work? I gave a look on revenue.ie but it does not mention repairs.
Has anyone else here shipped their ipod/mp3 player abroad for repairs?

I am not trying to dodge payment of taxes, but don't fancy the idea of being stuck for more Vat/taxes etcfrown.gif

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, if not please move it.

    Thanks

    G.
