My little fella (4yrs)happened to stand on a rusty nail yesterday evening. He did cut himself and there was a bit of blood. Nothing that serious. However should I get the doctor to give him a tetanus injection? Is it essential?

    Thanks in advance

I've always heard it's important to get a shot straight away - but call your GP; they'll be able to advise better

Thanks for your reply. Will do that straight away.

I think it depends how long ago his last shot was.

Can you let us know what they say? No harm for the rest of us to know what to do if the same situation arises.

    Thanks

The 5 in 1 injections will cover tetanus for 10 years.

Yeah. If he has had all his vaccinations he is covered.
