ATT: Students, DIT Tourneys

Morning all... finally got my timetable for this year and its looking like wednesday will suit me for running the famous bi-weekly €5 DIT Multi-Rebuy Turbo Crapshoot tournaments. Anto (aodea) has yet to get his timetable yet so not sure how his wednesdays look. Thursday could be handy with 4pm - 8.30ish tournament followed by a quick walk up the road for the jackpot 20 euro game at 9pm. Friday is handy too but we'd lose alot of players going home to the country for the weekend and stuff.

Anyway, tourneys will be 4-8ish, latest finish 9pm. I will be voting for Wednesday, but stick down what day best suits you... although realistically it will be on whatever day suits me, aodea, luckylloyd, shoutman, DITtag, fiddlesticks, bobba_fett, and jbravado!

(and yes there will be regular 5 euro stt's for those of us too lazy to make it to the library!)

Wednesday's seem like a great idea; but they are actually a terrible idea. What about indoor training as our football season progresses? You will lose some guys who prefer to be in a pub for Champions League nights.

I used to love running from work on a Thursday to donate €25 to you poor students. And I hate and am afraid of change....

Thursday is DIT Poker day.... My brain would not be able to handle any change to that... Plus - football on Wednesdays....

See there is alot to be said for having the final two tables of the game in a private room above a bar complete with pool table

I could go for a monday tbh but wednesday would suit me also, Friday is out of the question i reckon as people would be off home for the weekend.

mondays or thursdays woulb be best.think thursday is everyone's preffered day of the week, aswell with lloyd suggesting thursdays means thursdays it is!:)

ok so i voted for tuesday cause nobody else has and it would be a good way to cheer me up on tuesdays.

see college this year is going to go a lot like this
monday talk to fiddlesticks and find out all the gossip for the weekend.
tuesday nothing happens
wednesday be happy cause im half way through the week may attend class and even head out
thursday yipee the day before friday will ask some chick out it wont go well
friday be lonely and stay in for my match
saturday play match
sunday recover from post match celebrations

study may be done at some point unlikely mind unlikely.


as for my return to college next wednesday i figure to celebrate we hold our first game on thursday for all the special boards people. 10 euro rebuy and we can let fay dave and connor play to cause they just turn up. ill outlast luke then fiddler will give me a badbeat. ill moan and move to UCD to hang out with Sean niptuck.

Tuesdays and Thursdays will be no good for me this year on account of Rugby commitments...
But I can always skip a session or two.

I'm back on Tuesday, any idea of Jeff has put any effort into placing our new snazzy logo on any hats or tshirts? Or even banners.
I reckon we set up a stall for freshers day, five euro to join the poker soc, and have our first tourney with whatever was collected on that day added to it... presuming you keep that fee.

we have to give a regestration fee so fiver may be a bit much but would make a nice juicy pot for the first tourni. which i will be winning.

how about this me, jeff, luke, fiddler and anybody else put money in a jar and get points for 1st to 9th at every dit event and by end of year whoever has the most points takes the glory! may allow us take these games seriously instead of going all in every second hand just so we can dog shaking stevens.

I'd definately be on for that one, maybe instead of paying a fiver in we all pay a tenner into each game with five going to the seperate pot, but I will only buy into this if it is on a day that suits me, ie. monday wednesday lol.

Also is there any plans to run a league table for the poker masses?

there soc sign up day is late sept, about two weeks from now. I hope to have a S**T load of ditpokersoc tshirts done up all fancy by then. I also wanna get a load of branded hoodies for... eh... "the committee" and then have a hoodie for whoever wins a tournament trhroughout the year. Do you reckon Shortstack/DeVore and GJP might sponsor us?? who knows? anyway, what i was thinking, was if we do a 5 euro reg fee, everyone gets a free tshirt with that and membership gets you a bonus 100 chip at every tournament throughout the year? although that coul dget messy cos we'd need membership cards and crazy stuff like that. WEDNESDAY!!!!
