I know this is probably a bit silly but...
How come coaches, scouts etc. for upcoming opposition always get a seat at a match?

    Alan Pardew's secretary:
'Hello...We are playing you in a couple of weeks. Can I get a ticket for Alan
to come and suss out your strengths, weaknesses and tactics? Oh and can you make it a seat in the Director's Box?'
Ticket Office: 'Of course! Anything to help you give us a tonking! And it's no problem to give you one of the best seats in the ground!'

Surely 'No! Sod off!' would be a more appropriate repsonse :D

Always seemed a bit strange to me!

Aye, without such a rule, there would probably be all sorts of shady dealings and spy operations to try get tickets for matches. Well, maybe not, but anyway.
