CD Writers - where can I download Roxio CD Writer or an alternative CD Writer?

All of a sudden, my CDRW drive is not working - any time I try to write to a cd, it goes through all the motions but then at the very end tells me:
"Cannot Complete The CD Writing Wizard.
There was an error in the CD Writing process"
Then it gives me three options - eject the cd, delete the data to be written, or save the data to be written.

I think I might be getting this error cos like an idiot, trying to clean out my pc yesterday, I uninstalled the Roxio CD Writer! Down at the end of the error popup I'm getting, it says that the "software is provided by license by Roxio Inc.", so I presume that this is the reason for my problem - it can't find the software?

So I'm wondering is there anywhere I can download (free) Roxio CD Writer or any alternative?

roxio isn't free so you can't download it.
