It costs 100,000 paddy points to enter....

At the moment, ppp have a promotion where if you clear 100,000 paddy points you get $500.

There will be 500 entries in this freeroll. If you match up what the points are worth in the promtion to the number of entries for the freeroll you get $250,000.

Minus a registration fee of say $25 * 500, that equals a prizepool of $237,500.

Funny when you work it out like that. :)

I hope I didn't work it out wrong and look a fool.

This sounds exactly right - the $500 bonus is good value, but there is no real reward for continuing to play on the site.

Anyone actually playing in that freeroll? I got in via one of the sats. Yep, a freeroll into a freeroll

This a network wide freeroll, you can qualify thru smaller freerolls as well as buying in direct.

If you think that 100,000 points for $500 is good then what about only 75,000 points for $500 at Green Joker Poker? Plus we reward afterwards......

    /end shameless shilling.

I have had > 100K points for over a year...when do we get our $500

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,051 ✭✭✭jimbling

hmmm... me too. I've earned well over 100,000 in the past few months. Is this a new offer that you have to sign up for?

eh... forget it... just looked it up and its a sign up bonus.

At 200 paddy points per dollar, its possibly the poorest value bonus on Tribeca.

It doesn't work like that. You have to enter the promotion and THEN accumulate the 100,000 points.

I'd love if I could just use the points I already have cos I have over 100,000 already aswell.

Shortstack: Does it take the same amount of time to accumulate points on PPP and GJP?
As in, will a $20 pot at $1/2 yield the same amount of points?

Yes it is exactly the same.

I disagree we started to introduce reload bonuses about six months ago. Points themselves are and incentive that can be used in freerolls and to redeem gifts in our store (at less than cost I might add)

I notice you don't use your $50 bonus as an example, which requires more than twice as many points as the same bonus on paddy power.

Thats not good though because the freerolls suck and so does the store.
And also the blind levels of the tourny's in general.

Even the 5,000 freeroll every monday that costs 25,000 points to enter has 8 minute levels.

That is your opinion and your entitled to it. Lucky for us tens of thousands of people disagree.

$1 worth of rake = 100 paddy points. Correct??

If so then 2,500,000 Paddy points = $25,000 worth of rake. Yes??

For 2,500,000 Paddy points I can get an Xbox 360.

baseball cap = $100 worth of rake
    super system book = $600
    Deck of cards = $58
    PSP game = $1300

I fail to see the "less than cost"

I've only recently started to play cash games but since I have I've found it staggering the amount of rake I'm paying. I've already payed over $550 this month in rake at PPP. This is equal to about 55000 Paddypoints, not even enough for one of the Billy Connolly DVD's , which I can probably get for about €8 in Xtra-vision anyway.

I never really thought about rake when I was playing stt's but now, when I look at my "rake paid" in Pokertacker, $1000+ a month is quiet a hugh chunk out of my profit.

I'm not saying PPP/Tribeca charge an exorberant rake but their customer loyalty rewards are almost insulting.

So why would I want to stay at PPP when on other sites I can get 33% rakeback or even no rake at all???

Its a fact that the blind levels suck compared to other sites.

    btw, I use ppp. :)

I'll be changing as soon as I clear the $500 promotion.

    Less Than Cost

BSQ ran some great sponsorhip freerolls, the finals had a 30 minute clock, exactly what you wanted accension....the problem however is that they never had more than 20-30 players tops in each final......

It's a bit like the way there are no NL games run in Dublin, the demand is not there.

Look at the market...the percentage of people who would like to see these more well structured tournmanets(including me!) is considerably lower than the percentage of those who enjoy their 8 minute or 2 min crap sh00ts.

Look at how many turbo STT's even at 100 level fill on Tribeca.....

It's unfortunately what the masses want.

It's not viable for PPP to solely cater for a small % of such a large market

I was playing a live tourny last night, blinds double every 20mins, and a guy at the table was complaining the blinds weren't going up fast enough!

No...im not looking, i'm back working at PPP :)

There are two views you can take, one from a players perspective and another from a business perspective.

Let's face it there are some people who want to play poker, other people simply want to gamble.

The largest porportion of the market are those who want to gamble. This is why Tribeca has such soft cash tables.

WSOP was a perfect example of this.

    Oh right! fair play so.

Yeah i agree. Norwich fan Rob and ollieboy are awful gamblers altogether:)
Good job they played their satellites on ppp so:D

Tell me about it, i mean take rob pushing KK into my A10 soooted, that's just plain gambling ;)

To summarise what i'm trying to say is that, us boardsters are not the only players out there, we are but a minority of a market
