Well its either that or bring travellers cheques or load money onto your credit card but it is not advisable incase you might lose it. Where are you going to?

    Credit card is the best.
Either pre load it or make sure some is going to pay the bills on time.
If you lose it you can get a replacement issued wherever you are.
    Better security wise as well.

I have a Visa and got charged everywhere I went for taking out cash, even if I put money in to the account. You can use the card to pay without charge, but taking out cash is always charged. The feckers will get you what ever way they can

I think there is a maximum charge of 3 Euro per transaction so it would make sense to withdraw as much as possible.
You will however get charged interest if you haven't lodged money into it.

I am hopefully doing the same trip myself next year. Was going to load up the credit card with a nice amount and also bring over some Travellers cheques as well...
How much do the travellers cheques cost? Also it doesnt cost for foreign transactions on a credit card does it ?? I thought I heard something like this...Although it could be withdrawl charges as well :D
Heading to Singapore for 5 days,Aus for 4weeks, NZ for 3.5 weeks., Fiji for 1 week, US for 1 week

On my trip what i did was i had 2 credit cards, one i put money onto it, i used online banking to transfer small amounts at a time. so if i lost it it wouldnt have all my money on it. and the other i just used to buy stuff on.
as far as i know you are not charged anything for withdrawing and and are given the exchange rate of the day.

I am with aib who dont charge for cash advance so long as your card account is in credit, but before i left i did have an mbna card and they did charge for cash advance even if your account is in credit. so you should check with you credit card people. But its what we found to be the easiest.
