The Wicker Man (2005)

So has anyone seen the Hollywood hatchet-job that is the Wicker Man remake? As a massive fan of the original movie, I was very skeptical of this movie, but determined to see it (with an open mind!). I even drove 120 mile round trip to get to a cinema that was previewing it. Not to ruin in for anyone but the central theme (Christianity/Pagan) of the original movie was gotten rid of, Christopher Lee's magnificant role was rewritten as a woman played by Ellen Burstyn. Now she plays the role quite adequately, but the character was in no way as tyrannical as Lord Summerisle. Even the wicker man scene itself was in no way as disturbing as that in the original (which is considered one of the most disturbing scenes in cinema). The music is also gone. Anyway my point is, its crap and I want to know why did they even contemplate tampering with a classic in the first place?

it was AWFUL. I was so disappointed. Hell, if i'd paid for my ticket, i'dve demanded my money back :)

the wickerman scene was dead, uninteresting, and unconvincing on Cages part.

bleh, I dont want to even think about it anymore.

    also, don't go see pulse.

This movie sucked and as far as I'm concerned it is more proof that Nicholas Cage needs to give it up!
