    Hi guys,

I have a standard sky box, with no phoneline attached.

I have a HD ordered through a sky reseller, but they wont install it unless i have an eircom phoneline. (Isn't this against competition laws?)

I have a phoneline with Magnet, with a transformer box (analogue) over a 4 meg up/4 meg down line. But they claim this line wont work???

So to get the HD box, i need to get an eircom line installed (€120 install + monthly rental)...

If there anyway i can test whether the magnet line works or not, perhaps connect the Standard box and try an update or something?

Apologies for the length, hope this makes sense.
I'd really appreciate any help given!

If the standard box works on call back the HD box will work, if sky refuse to sell you one just buy from an independent

Thanks for the reply Tony, i have now plugged in the phoneline and under the system test it says phone line connected...

is there anything further i can do to test that magnet phone lines do, in fact, work?

    cheers again
