Gay relationships never last long ?

When the debate on homosexuality was going on here many years ago, one of the arguments against legalising gays was that gays didn't have stable relationships and that gays were permissive. Now that we are legal, have we changed? Are more gays in steady relationship now or are we still looking for one -night stands ? Whats your opinion?

I am in a relationship of a year and a half now. I do love it (and him) but I can easily see the temptations of being - in the title of Nelly's album - "loose".

Them damn temptations are everywhere - on the train, the streets, there's one under my desk right now ! ! ! !

My first relationship lasted 12 years, my current one is on the go 4 years, most of my friends have been in relationships for 10+ years.

Whats wrong with temptation? nothing just give into it together and have fun together!

Guys, you are missing the point. Of course by nature most men are permissive but in those days the hypocrites tried to argue that it was an exclusive gay behavour

Just noticed 7 replies and NO nastiness ! Let's keep it that way :D

I assume you mean promiscuous? :)

Me personnally, I've never cheated on anyone I've been with and would much rather be in a stable relationship than sleeping around.

Well I don't think it is dependant on sexual orientation and gender. Rather, moreso, on the person themselves and the relationship itself. There exists many straight relationships which are short-lived and certainly not steady - look at the divorce rate! For example, my grandparents were married for just over 30 years and my grandfather had a fling with another woman. God knows how many flings he has had behind my granny's back in the past. Maybe it might be wise to imply men are a lot more unstable than women but females can equally have affairs too.

In this day and age, less people are getting married and if they are it can be for the wrong reasons (i.e. not love). There are many gay people out there in strong relationships who do love each other. In many respects gay relationships aren't really much different than heterosexual ones.

Well, I suppose when you have exhausted the well, all ya can do is savour the last glass, your well *has* to be near dry by now Az :p:p;)

Seriously though, I truly dont think it is much of a difference, if somone wants to stay in a relationship they will, man or woman.
