I'm going to NY tomorrow and I'm planning on checking out some shops for a laptop. I'm planning to visit Bestbuy, Compusa and Circuit City. Any others worth a visit or any personal recommendations?

Been there done that...good luck finding the shops! it aint as easy as you might think...even with a google maps street level print out....sure they look close to each other but they aint!
Try compusa as when I was there they had a refurbished 12" ibook for $900 which i thought was good...they have the same as here really nothing extra ordinary going on.

I haven't bought computers in NY or anything but I was in NYC last month and did a bit of browsing

compusa sucks....I foudn it badly stocked and the people that worked there aren't that helpful

    try http://www.jr.com/

it's on park row, down near the world trade centre site it's easy enough to find.
