    Hey there,

I am hopefully going to India for three weeks either over the Christmas break or early next year with my boyfriend. We only made the decision last night really. Has anyone on here any advice about India and what are the best places to go? It's such a massive country and obviously three weeks is too short a time to see much of it. I'd like to pick one area and go there.

I am also considering volunteering for a week or two while I'm over there. I know I-to-I go there and a few others but I'd prefer to do something independently.

If you could give me any advice I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Polly

    hi polly,
i am also thinking of going to india in jan(third week or so)
how long are you planning on going for? i am aiming for 3 months im guessing you're probably far along on your planning but if i could just ask you a few q's..
who did you book your flights with? i saw one to mumbai for 500e....and what about insurance??
do you need to get a visa here before you arrive in india?
right now i am only starting to plan this so im kind of up in the air at the moment....a friend of mine who has been there budgeted 500rupees a day which works out at 10e or so....just wondering how much you had in mind for a budget??
i know the i-to-i thing your talking about they look good....
you could also try trailfinders..although i think they mainly do tours and are a bit pricey
    try usit.ie too
you've probably done all those things already but i thought id jusy throw them in!
any opinions or advice you could send my way would be hugely apprecaited
    thanks:D
