I am a long time lurker here, first time ever posting a pic - please be gentle!

I took this one a few years ago in Dublin, just put it thru Gimp script fu - 'Old Photo'. I liked it because the little girl is looking for goodies off the guy in Charlie Chaplins costume, and the other slightly older girl def want one, but too shy to ask. Should I crop away a bit from the left?

Original (well, 800x600) is also in my flickr stream.

And this one - not trying to be rude or anything, its just a flower!

    Thanks for looking! :-)

hey what camera are u using,
i like the first photo i dont think u need to crop it i think it works well with the fade out feeling to it. maybe crop the boy on the left out, it might push the point on charlie and the girl. i dont know, thats what i think i really like it

Thanks for the comments, Dizzy, its an old Sony 717. I thought the picture was a bit crowded, and as it is now the expression on the girls face is very hard to see unless I point it out - not the best photo ever, but may be cropping would remove some distractions (kids and some guys there on the left etc).

Meanwhile, just one more pic here - how can I add some drama to this (I don't have photoshop yet - just gimp, photoelements).

Thanks a million for that conmike, much appreciated!

Dizzy, not sure about those crops, well they are better than the hue - I was thinking more in terms of doing something about the clouds so that they would stand out and give the scene some more depth... not sure if that makes any sense - thanks for doing the crops and hue though, appreciated.

Personally I am not a fan of altering the image too much. I think it is pretty dramatic & cool just as it is!

thanks tarakiwa, I guess I will leave it as it is (bit of crop may be a frame - just learned how to do that!!!) - Thanks everyone, I am liking this whole photo stuff ..

Quick trip to Bettystown beach this morning at the crack of dawn:

Wow... cracking image. Must think about putting some boarders on pictures in future, I really like the way it works on that one posi!

The original pic works REALLY well I think. Perhaps crop the boy to the left out. Great expressions on the two girls. It took me a minute to realise it wasnt an historic photo :)

Thanks DeVore, looks like a bit of post-processing really helps with photos, and borders were the easiest to do!

Thanks Dizzy, Bettystown is just north of Dublin (county) - north of Skerries, Balbriggan etc, between Laytown and Drogheda. I have geo-tagged the photo.

    thanks guys!

    Pos.
