I presume you get them at the post office. I bought off a guy in England, can I get a postal order in Sterling at an Irish post office??

    Thanks in advance

yes just go into the p.o. and ask for a sterling postal order to the value of ?? then they will charge you the equivilent euro's plus their own commission depending on how expensive the postal order is. then u send it to the english guy. hope that helps

Thanks a million for the fast response. I've left the guy in the lurch a bit.

Another way is to get a sterling draft from the bank, that works too (probably a little bit dearer perhaps).

I asked in my local post office for a sterling postal order and they said they didn't do them. So I had to get a sterling bank draft from the bank.

So I had to get a sterling bank draft from the bank.

I asked my Bank for a sterling draft/cheque for stg 17.00 and they wanted to charge me the equivalent of stg 25.00 total ....

    what nice peeps .... :(

I must check to see what the Post Office would do it for ....

According the An Post website, sterling drafts are available at the 'larger post offices', so give them a buzz before going in.

    Won't be very much cheaper.
