Multiple wireless networks / access points

Due to a dead spot in our house we had to install a second wireless access point.

It is a Linksys WAG54GS and the original one is a combined router and access point WRT54GS. Should I set both to be the same ESSID and if so will the computers automatically pick up the strongest one? or should i have two different networks?

Both are plugged into the same 192.168.0.0 subnet.

Not having the same setup (so can't test) I'd go with the same SSID (reasoning being it's a Layer 2 network)

WAG or WAP? The former is a modem the latter is a AP.

This might be worth a read. Also you could prob flash both with third party firmware and use WDS.
