I havent done any adjusting on the picture other than cropping and reducing size for the forum. Colours etc are as they were out the camera and all natural light too as the table was next to the window.

The Champers were a present from the hotel as I stay with them a lot with work. I always go on about the excellent food and service but decided to surprise the missis by taking her to the Edinburgh Tatto which meant staying there over the weekend (it's nice they show these little touches).

    It's a good product/brochure shot.
The crop seems a little agressive on the bottom and you can see the finger marks on the edge of the ice bucket where the condensation has run down.
Then again none of this was under your control so it's not really fair to point it out :p
The only thing I would have done differenet is opened up a bit and tried to throw the table in the background out of focus a bit more.
If you had full control over the lighting etc, what would you have changed?

I think it's a good product shot too, but could have some work done on it to really bring it out.

Personally, the lighting is workable in PS, if your open to suggestion?

If you want I can give it a go, post it up, if ye like it, I'll let you know how :)

What camera do you use? If it isn't a point a shoot then you are expected to bump the contrast as there are no built in facilities for this. Thus you will have images with a muted feel to them.

    Keep it up.

That shot was done with a Canon digi (not SLR) a while back. I now have the 20D to play with.

Without making excuses I still am learning how to modify pics but you "pro's" would see it differently to how I think it should look. Its like looking at Excel sheets all day!! :D

I don't think that's true shrimp (about the contrast). I can only speak for nikons, but assume that Canon and others also have their own range of curves that can be used/adjusted that define contrast for JPG processing

Nice shot - would have been perfect if it was not for those finger marks...
