We still have a large old analogue dish up and running its a nokia box tuned to astra & working fine.... but... Is it possible to tune this into the now free uk terrestrial channels? can we change its position to another (better) sattelite?

Not interested in paying for packages from sky...so whats free and how can I use it to its optimum? (before it falls apart:D )....

First you need to make sure it's a Universal LNB that's in front of the dish.

For the UK channels, you'll need to lower the dish a bit and swing a few degrees to the left (from behind the dish, to the left). You're looking for Astra 2 & Eurobird at 28 degrees East. The bird you're probably using now is Astra 1, at 19 degrees East.

I presume the Nokia box you are using is an analogue box, so you'll need to get a digital box. Analog box is useless on Astra 2.

Then you'll have all the BBC's, ITV's, Sky News, Film4, etc
