Harvest moon with a 50mm

Took this a couple of nights ago for something different - I tried a few with a wide angle and a 50mm prime instead of going for standard zoom shots. This one (I think ) looks like it has had that photoshop lens flare effect added but it hasnt. The only ps on it was to clone out a sensor smudge and some stray light marks. Also very light levels change. Its not great and I'm not really looking for c & c on it as it was a one off - seeing as its been pretty quiet in here the last few days thought I would post it anyway.

If you hadnt had mentioned it was the moon I would have thought otherwise.

Yep definitely the moon ! - taken at about midnight - here is the same scene from a wide angle.

Trouble is it looks like a high contrast shot of the sun. The whole 'moon' thing is its surface detail which of course you'd never capture with a 50mm lens.
