    Pillar hit with one-match ban

Senior football manager Paul Caffrey will have to watch Dublin's opening defence of their Leinster SFC campaign in 2007 from the stand.

Pillar has been slapped with a a one-match touchline ban by Croke Park's Central Disciplinary Committee.

The suspension arises from Caffrey's altercation with Mayo selector John Morrison before the start of the recent All-Ireland football semi-final.

Morrison was warned for leaving his seat in the stands late in the game to encourage the Mayo support to get behind their team.

The CDC also fined the Dublin County board a total of €1100 for breaching three-match day regulations.

The Dublin team were fined for taking to the Croke Park pitch late, linking arms during the national anthem and using four water carriers.

I have no problem with most of this. However fining the team for linking arms during the national anthem is going too far (IMO ). I was watching the matches that took place this weekend and all the teams done exactly the same thing, will they all be fined or is it just reserved for the dublin team ??

bit ridicolous alright(so is my spelling)
teams can be fined for also not having theyre socks up during the parade etc, seems like overkill on regulations but i guess someone is feeling like a big man out there for imposing the rules. linking arms is a bit girly anyways.....:D

The reaon there were headlines about this fine was that it happened to be the same game as the hill 16 side incident. Don't start thinking that the GAA are starting to pick on the Dubs cos that couldn't be further from the truth.
