Can anyone recommend one with an optical-out? This seems just the ticket, but it would need the lower profile bracket to fit in the case?

There in lies the problem finding the actual low profile brackets to make these half height cards true low profile can be a pain in the ass.

It could be messy but you could phyically cut the bracket down to size like I said not pretty but it should do.

Komplett have the retail package of the above card along with the OEM version I wonder if the bracket is included in the retail one I checked Creatives website but there was no mention.

The only one I know of for sure is Audiotrak's Prodigy 7.1 LT in the screenshot you can see they supply the low profile bracket. No idea where you can buy one though as Audiotrak are kind of a specialist outfit and not stocked in the big stores. A good starting point would be Audiotraks UK site they have some sort of webstore & links to other stores that stock their hardware.
