    Hey guys,

I'm just ordering a new gaming mouse for my PC, since my last €10 mouse has just stopped, you know, turning right, and other such complicated task !

I was wondering if any of you guys had any advice on which mouse to go for, and where best to order it from (if you know of any special offers or anything, please post them ! :)). I'm currently deciding between a Razer Diamondback and a Logitech G5 or Logitech MX518, all being around the €60 mark with shipping from pixmania/komplett.

Leaning towards the G5 at the minute.

Thanksa lot for the help guys ! :)

the diamondback is nice, ambidextrous (sp?) but feels a bit weird to me because i'm used to logitechs, the 518 is spot on, the g5 is great also but you lose a side button which puts me off buying it, although it does have better pads which is a big plus

i'd go with the 518, and get a good mouse mat such as the steelpad or the funcpad

go with the G5. fantastic mouse, very comfortable and the adjustable dpi is brilliant for switching between sniping/ normal fire modes etc.
You lose a button alright but you have the side scroll on the mousewheel so that brings back two.
The copperhead/diamondback is a nice looking mouse however I found it's nowhere as comfortable as the G5, in fact I had a pain in my wrist after using it for a while..plus their whole button setup was competely flawed..I gave mine away to my brother after only using it for a few days..

I often wonder how big and good a difference a mouse can make. I am and always have used the cheapest of cheap optical mice, and play games online on a pretty much nightly basis...never had any problems doing well!

I use a wired Microsoft 6000 series laser mouse very smooth in action and comfortable to hold.

It also uses the click scroll wheel as opposed to the fluid wheel found on most Microsoft mice (the fluid wheel makes FPS games with weapon selection assigned to the scroll wheel very tricky).

Logitech came up with a mouse recently that actually does both modes with the scroll wheel, at the moment I just keep the wired mouse handy for games and use the wireless 6000 version for everyday use (fluid scroll wheel is much more useful in desktop environment).

I got a Logitech Mx500 last year and love it (always used to use Microsoft) I've ordered the G5 now based on how good the Mx500 was comfort wise.

looks crap to be honest..besides the normal button range (3) there are only two additional buttons and they'll be used for switching the dpi settings i presume..looks like the m$ are getting lazy and not bringin out quality products like they used to..ie.microsoft sidewinder ff 2

did u even look at the specs -_-.... 7 buttons

Since when do you need 7 buttons?

I seem to have done quite well with 2 and the click wheel/third button. I don't even know what I'd do with 7 buttons.

The G5 arived today, it's a classy lookin' mouse, the wire is covered in like a fabric cord and it has a little box of weights which I'm assuming is for weighing your drugs or someit.

But I only have five fingers! I think you can over complicate a mouse, buttons you won't actually use will only get in the way.

you can have two buttons for the thumb and two for the pinky either side of the mouse.

i agree though the more buttons on a mouse the more complicated it is. just give me a simple ms 1.1 mouse anyday.

The forward & back buttons on the logitech are handy for browsing, don't use them gaming tho.
