Is it somehow required to fancy people in your job?

Any job I've ever been in I seem to automatically rank the women there and then spend a good portion of my day (anywhere between 1% and 98% of the day) admiring #1 (and possibly #2 if there is a good crop).

I wonder is it just a boredom thing or would I still be attracted to these people if I met them outside of a work environment?

The workplace can play tricks on a persons mind I reckon but the jury is still out on that one.

So have you got your eye on anyone in work (besides the person who keeps robbing your stapler of course)?

Yup, I like the look of a few babes at work but that's probably because they're the only ones there. Where I work is about 75-80% male. Feckin' sausage fest IT industry! If I met them outside work, I wouldn't have the same interest.

agreed, sometimes I wonder why I did IT. Moneys good but feck it if any other job is more of a sausagefest. I agree with the OP, I find myself getting stramge urges towards the 40 year olds at work since they're the only women near me. I'm 24!

oh... those 40 something milfs :o, the highest quality ones can be observed in posher areas, around school exit times, driving merc station wagaons

Nothing like a hot 40 year old. Experienced, confident, gagging for it.

Try working the trades/construction; it's 99% sausage fest when it comes to co-workers. Why do you think there's the stereotypical "builders wolf whistling at passing office-type females"?

For me it was always the new women at work that caught my eye. Especially after working with the same people for a while, the new ones always look good at first!

Guess I'm lucky then where I work is about 80% females, of which a large chunk are probably between 20-35 years of age. :)

If you can believe the research, work is one of the best places to hook up. Just think, no silly pick up lines, no false booze impressions, and a time to see both the good and the bad of day-to-day. Is he a prince or a toad? After awhile, you will find out at work.

Hook up? Sausage fest? Can this thread be merged with the "Irish people talking American" one? God i hate those terms. Sausagefest? "There wasnt an ounce of gee in the place" gwan, show Michael Collins he didnt die for us to speak like the OC.

As for my work, its a very multicultural huge company. Probably most of the Irish girls are fairly good looking, a few of them complete stunners. Ditto the East Europeans. The black women are mostly your mothers age group for some reason, used to be a hot big bootay youngun but shes long gone. We have no Vietnamese afaik :( (thinks back to Nam war films, cute noisy bitches :D ) The Spaniards and Italians in ours who are good looking are breathtakingly beautiful.

Unfortunately, this only applies to about a half dozen of the Mediterranean girls, with the rest having a taste in extremely crap glasses, bad haircuts and clothes that look like they got change from the five euro note they bought them with. There are some nice French, but theyre pretty overrated at the same time.

As for who im hopin for a pokin, one Irish bird who looks like a stereotypical Spaniard/Italian (as opposed to the reality that most of them arent particularly hot) one animal Irish raised Croatian and one stereotypically good looking Spaniard.

Too bad they work in the department the other side of the floor, catchin a word with them is difficult, we`re all very friendly but we dont have the same breaks or anything. Used to be a few in mine, but they left for other departments and because we have a far reduced workload they havent replaced them yet.

Ah well my 3 princesses, see yis at the christmas party :D And at least one of yis after it (or more than one, hell im game!)

    Schlaughtered.......

God,there's nothing worse than fancying someone that you work with!

I'm not shy when I'm talking to guys in a club/pub or whatever but in work I just blush anytime I have dealings with a hot colleague. Then I get all tongue-tied and have to leave the room very quickly.

Horribly embarrassing, but kinda funny I suppose.

I'm a nurse at a hospital, and trust me men are beginning to be the majority...

    I don't know about this

having worked in several hospitals I have to say, they must be the best work places for women in terms of ratio and also quality

I mean most of the nurses are women, not to mention the physios, pharmacists, social workers, occupational therapists and more and more of the junior doctors are women (and of course the students in all the above areas are floating around too......) plus all the cleaners (now all eastern European cailíns....) tis happy days indeed to be a single male in this environment :D

and then there's the Christmas party season *eyes glaze over* but way too early to be thinking about this

On the other hand at one point I had 2 exes (all the exes I had in fact) both working in same hospital and it's potentially complicated *sighs*
