I am starting a Kickboxing class in a few weeks all going well.
Im quite fit as i go to the gym alot, i wanted to know is there any type of training i should be doing in preperation for the class's?
Like should i be doing certain stretch's to increase flexibilty or doing certain weights to build muscle in certain area's?
    Any help much appreciated?
    Chris

I think any exercise you do in the Gym will tie in well with Kickboxing traing. A good club Will contain a reasonable fitness program suited for the style anyway. Just one important thing to note. Don't work on muscle building if it's not exceeded by flexability training. Building muscle alone will actually hinder Kickboxing.

If your already reasonably fit I'd recommend you just work on your sprints to develop some explosive power, your coaches should look after the rest in terms of stretches etc.

What club are you going to train with?.

I trained with Liam McConalogue's Mugendo club in Coolock and hold Liam head and shoulders above any other coach I've ever had in his knowledge of all things related to kickboxing and fitness.

Stretching is a good idea to increase your flexibility and reduce the chance of injury.
