i was using a basic 1-ccd canon camera and i have recently got a canon xm2. what my question is, is it something that i am doing that is causing my file sizes to be huge?? i shoot, then transfer to my laptop and burn onto a dvd (uncompressed) and give to somebody else to edit. for 3 minutes of video it took up 1gb. obviously the problem then arises when i have more video footage and i am restricted by the 4.7gb of a dvd.

i have not changed any capture settings since getting the xm2. i didnt think there would be such a huge difference between single chip and 3 chip file sizes.

    any ideas??

    cheers
    moe
