What is my first cousin's, once removed, son to me?

Don't even know if I've worded that right and whether the 's was appropriate.

Anyway, I'm in America and my mother has first cousins here. I know, having eventually found using Google that they are my first cousin's, once removed.

They have a son and daughter, so what would they be to me?

Many thanks if you can help.

Once removed, means "one generation difference".

Your aunts children would there for be second cousins because you are both of the same generation and share a set of great grandparents.

    (psi, no-one mentioned an aunt).

Your first cousin once removed's children are your first cousins twice removed.

    Screwable.

Your aunt might not like you knocking her granddaughter.

I thought that they're your second cousins.

If you can figure this out, then it should help: http://www.comanchelodge.com/relationch.html

    /edit: Sorry Billy, you're right!

/Second edit: They're your second cousins, alright.

Yeah my bad, I meant mother's cousins (I was debating it in here at the time and aunt was mentioned).

    I'm still right though ;)

Children of first cousins (who share grand-parents)are second cousins (who share great-grand-parents). Children of second cousins are third cousins (who share great-great-grand-parents). Etc.

A child of your first cousin is your first cousin once removed. A child of that child is your first cousin twice removed. I am unsure how it goes in the OP's query, because there is a removal happening on both sides.

Provided of course that no-one in the tree is called Cletus .
