AFAIK I dont think so as u will need a different nozzle for the different fuels

Yes you can mix the fuels. Yes somethimes it is necessay to change nozzles or adjust pump pressures. Short term it shouldn't be a problem just get the pump pressures/nozzle adjusted when you get it serviced.

    Hi,

The question Why comes to mind ?

If you buy heating oil instead of kerosene by mistake it can depend on the mix, you might be OK with 50 / 50 and top up with kerosene as soon as possible (or vice versa).

Kerosene burns cleaner which is why the boiler can use a balanced flue whereas heating oil needs a flue.

You seem to be saying that you want to change from Kerosene to diesel ? Most people are moving the other way.
If you have a modern boiler with a balanced flue you cannot use diesel, even if the burner is designed to burn it. You will get away with it, if you are burning off a delivery delivered by mistake, although it would be better to get it pumped out. There is no problem mixing the fuels. It used to be done when the diesel was freezing - kerosene was added to thin it out.
When changing from one fuel to the other (usually diesel to kero), you let the oil go as low as possible and then fill to the top with the new oil. Whichever way you are going, you will have to change the nozzle, oil pressure and air adjustment. If you keep getting fills of different oil, you will have to check the settings after each fill.
    Jim.

Is green Diesel Cheaper than Kerosene or something??? Why would you want to burn diesel??

What nozzle do u change? My home heating oil is always red kerosene. But I was given fuel and it turned out to be green diesel. Burner stopped working. Do I remove it? I.e drain the tank?

No...you contact your supplier and get them to remove the wrong fuel and replace it with kerosene..

And get them to fix your your boiler.
Boiler set for kero, accidentally filled with diesel will soot up boiler leading to problems.
