Ordered a Macbook pro last week and paid by cheque.

Expected shipping date is next Friday 15th Sept. Just wondering if anybody had had the following experience with Apple?

Does anyone knows what happens if Apple announce the new Core 2 Duo chips next week on the 12th? Would i still be shipped my origional order or would i be shipped my origional order with a Core 2 Duo chip?

I know its all speculation at the moment but just asking as this is probably the last day i could cancel my order and i really dont want to be fuming next week if i'm shipped out the old model after paying Euro 2800 for it when i should have really got the new one.

    Opinions welcome thanks.

Cancel or allow shipment go ahead?

You should read this rumour which suggests there'll be no Merom lappers till next year.

I'd go ahead if I were you...

PS the "joke" in your sig is beyond tasteless.

As someone who cares for a relative with bowel cancer, I find this terribly callous.

Wow, amazing. If you think the suffering someone goes through dying from/battling *any* form of cancer is funny, you have a screw loose...
