What monitors are people using with their 360s?

Hey folks,
Moving house next week so am gonna have to buy a tv/monitor to play the 360 on.

Thinking of getting a flat panel computer monitor (can't afford a HD tv).

Any recommendations? What are you kids using?

The dell 2005FTW or whatever it's called. 20" widescreen me thinks. Fantastic monitor, they do some great deals on them some times (got mine for ~500-600 a year ago). Has DVi+VGI+Composite connections so it's easy to hook up PC/360 + Wii with just the flick of a switch between them! Glory!

I think this is the equivilant one now, my exact model was probably discontinued.

Not got the space or money to be buying myself a new HD tele yet so I'm just sharing the 21" monitor that I liberated from the skip in work that I also use for my PC.

Was using the 24 inch CRT in the sitting room but have moved the Xbox to my room now and using a 17inch tevion LCD screen which I also use with my PC.
Its perfectly good for my needs.

I have a few questions about hooking a monitor to an xbox:

First off, sound. Most of those monitors dont have internal speakers. Ive a 15" flat screen and would consider hooking my xbox to this, but it has no speakers, nor anywhere i could potentially plug speakers into, so how do you get sound using a monitor? (sorry if thats a tarded question)
Also, how do you go about connecting the 360 to the monitor? what kind of cables do you use?

There is a cable you can by in game/smyths etc, Xbox to VGA which you can use to connect the xbox to the monitor. (about 20 euro I think)
I have a 5.1 surround sound rig which I picked up in Altir for 40 yoyo a few months ago. The VGA cable has two sound cables on it also which I use to plug into the 51 system,

Do Sharp actually manufacture HD READY LCD's??? Any sharps I have seen, have hd connections, but arn't proper hd.

I have a 26" Samsung HD Ready LCD. I loves it. Only thing I complain about is the lack of picture in picture. Would be handy as I use it for my Xbox and PC.

Nope. It's only got a VGA input on it. There are some DVD players with VGA and DVI outputs, you can get a DVI to VGA adapter. And the Xbox 360 itself plays DVDs too.

Is there a difference in picture quality between a xbox playing on a LCD monitor through VGA compared to a HD-ready LCD? Relative screen sizes aside of course.
