Road traffic convictions?

Hi, I have a conviction for careless driving - i received a EUR750 fine and was not disqualified from driving for any period.

I have no other convictions....so do i have a criminal record? Do road traffic offences fall under the criminal catagory? And would it affect me obtaining a J1 visa to work in the US?

I think the wording is along the lines of "have you been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude".

I don't think you quite reach that, but at the same time its a lot more than a parking ticket. Best to talk to someone in the know.
