3 + 5 Wood advice

    Howdy All,

    Want to purchse an new (well new to me anyway) 3 and 5 wood... will pick them up from ebay but wanted some advice on what to buy... will have about 100euro per club including delivery...

    what could ppl recommend? im about a 20capper and steadily improving with the help of a few lessons..

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    I would reccommend the taylor made vsteel fairway woods. They have a nice low profile, cutting sole and are nice and forgiving.

    I went for them and they have made huge progress!

    I'd say they might be too demanding for a 20 hc. I found them difficult to get in the air.
    Check out the callaway steelhead III. Very easy to hit and less than £50 each second hand.

    I actually have a 3 wood here, steelhead 3. I thought i got rid of it but this thread got me hokeing in the garage and i found it :D

    Pics in this thread, the face looks worse than it actually is. If you cover postage i'll send it down for a try out?

    I actually got a chance to try one out yesterday down the range. How much you want for it dman?

    edit... just realised it steel shaft... need to have a think about it...

    dman... wont be buyin that 3 wood off you after all mate.

    my clubs got sloten out of the boot of the car last night, about a grands worth of gear gone... angry isnt the word....

    car was in a courtyard outside the house..... whoever took them knew exactly what they wanted, the smashed the window, popped the boot and took the clubs, they didnt even open the doors of the car as the locks were still down.... FECKERS...

    i had only just bought a brand new taylor-made rossa mezza monza putter from ebay... had only used it twice...

    I was thinking of buying the callaway x fairway woods, i think they retail for about 250 in mcguirks, but keep an eye out for bargains on ebay.

    My brother has a taylormade R5 3 wood and it is fantastic. Really nice weight and goes a mile if you hit the swetspot, pretty forgiving too.
