how to publish a web site?

I have created a web site with publisher and now am trying to publish it to the web It's for my dads company, we have an account with host ireland with two domain names, .com and .ie also there a holding page there already on the .com page, how do i delete that....couldn't find the option fron my host ireland account to do…

I assume you need to FTP the site. Once there's a site there (with a index page), the holding page should be overwritten.

I should of benn clearer, I don't know how to upload the pages.
When I click publish to web in publiser, I save it as index.htm, then what?

download filezilla and upload the file(s) to ftp.whateveryourwebsiteis.com

Got them onto the website
I have now got a bunch of files, parent directory and a list of images...something didn't work?
